The students have been given the guidelines for their April Book Report. This month the book report is on poetry. The students have been creating a poetry book in class the last few weeks and have been given the option to use one of the poems that they have created for it to use for their report. The "coffeehouse" presentation will be on Monday April 29. The guidelines and rubric can be found on Hapara.

Due to the Snow Days and PD Day tomorrow there will be no homework this week. We will continue working on this weeks math when we get back to school on Monday. Reminder to students that Book Reports are due in just over a week. This weekend would be a great time to work on them.
The events from this week that were cancelled have now been rescheduled. The boys floor ball tournament will now be held at St. Stephen School on Monday, January 28th. The ski trip will be rescheduled to Monday, February 11th, with the same pick up and drop off times. Today's pizza lunch day is rescheduled to Monday, January 28th.
All work is due Monday morning. After a busy first week back we are starting to get back into the classroom routine. We've had a few changes and new plans in the class but everyone seems to be enjoying the new routine.
I hope everyone has enjoyed their vacation and break from school. This week we were back in full swing with new stations, units, and assignments. This half of the year we will try and use Hapara for most assignments to reduce the paper usage. This also allows the students to finish assignments at home without worrying about losing pieces of paper on the way.
We're onto the last week of classes before Christmas break! Everyone is super excited for next week but we still have lots planned for this week!
Monday: Musical theatre performance. Tuesday: Library Day Wednesday: Book report presentations Thursday: Secret Santa/Passion Projects Friday: To Do List due/ PJ Day. Many students have also asked if they can bring in snacks on the last day of class. I have told them that as long as their parents are fine with it, they're nut free, and there's enough for the whole class (21 students) then they are more than welcome to bring treats in to share. |
